I mostly use oil on canvas, paper or wood panel and sometimes on metal. I also work with acrylics, watercolor, gouache, and pastels on paper.
Born in Cartagena, Colombia, Patricia González earned her BFA from Wimbledon School of Art in London. She lived in Houston from 1980-1992 where she taught at the University of Houston and the University of Texas in Austin, and exhibited at Graham Gallery, Moody Gallery and Joan Wich & Co. Gallery. She currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
A past recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts grant, her exhibition history spans three decades and includes more than a dozen solo shows in Europe and the United States. Her work is found in the private collections and permanent collections of several museums, including Rockefeller Foundation, the San Antonio Museum of Art, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. She was an artist in residence at the Ucross Foundation.
My work is influenced by natural environments and interconnectedness.
